The angle is brightening the top and right appointments, but they are same as the binding next to the strap. This is as close a match as I wanted. 
The original strap I purchased is boxed and ready for return drop off at UPS next time I hit the grocery.

I could be wrong but I think he was being a wee bit sarcastic regarding another thread (not one of yours)
That thread is about a Martin guitar manifesting buzzing or a weird resonance or some shit.
Anyways, 18 months and 9 or 10 pages of talk, talk, talk with zero resolution. It’s quite ridiculous.
So your current thread achieving resolution in 8 days is lightning fast compared to the Martin thread. Which I may add, had been a source of frustration for many.

I know that, and feel bad for Monkey Allen. I read first two pages then skipped to the last. I think MA is just looking to vent and collect ideas, see if he really has a lemon or others have the same with their Martins. I find it unfair that he’s being judged and joked about in a legitimate thread.

Black or brown strap for me. Nobody looks at what color a guitar strap is. The only time in my life that i payed any attention whatsoever to a guitar strap was when stevie ray vaughn was using that wide black one with the white music notes. I thought it was cool.

I Have watched countless hours of hendrix, clapton, skynyrd, johnny winter, bb king, albert king, freddie king, the allman brothers....the list goes on and on and on. I cant remember ever thinking: "man, Lynyrd Skynyrd really kicking ass, but Gary Rossingtons guitar strap needs to be a different color!"

Just like Duane's guitars, Duane's strap, regardless of color, became a sentimental family heirloom that Gregg proudly wore.
