The new strap is Italian leather. Do Italian cows have different hide than American cows?

The angle is brightening the top and right appointments, but they are same as the binding next to the strap. This is as close a match as I wanted. 
The original strap I purchased is boxed and ready for return drop off at UPS next time I hit the grocery.

Though I do have another thread I may start on the pickup and pole piece adjustments. Don’t what I was talking honking before I put it into storage the last few years but they need some love. High E is getting buried and I can fix that.
