How to hookup two Presonus Quantum2626 together with ADAT Optical ?

Hi, I'm new here ard trying to get back into recording again. I got two Presonus Quantum 2626 and a Imac with Logic. I want to link the two interfaces with ADAT fiber optic. I want to get 16 channels total. ADAT is confusing to me with two outputs and two inputs with in and out. I did download the Universal Control and I didn.t know if there is a setting in there I have to do? Thanks
 
The dual ADAT connections are for more channels or higher sample rates. I don't know that particular unit, but you most likely have to use the software to specify one as clock master and one as clock slave, and also specify which one is the signal source and which is receiving signal. You generally can clock through the ADAT, but clocking via word clock might be more stable.

Just make them Conglomerate Interfaces with one as the Clock. It’s built into a Mac - under Audio Midi.
 
Conglomerate device is a good solution. I might still clock them via the BNC.

It’s just a Jack - Word Clock is what you are using - and it can transfer over many different kinds of connectors - the most common is a BNC Cable.

On that unit the word clock uses a BNC jack, as @bouldersoundguy said

Right, and the slave could also get it from the ADAT signal over the optical connection. But BNC is a more reliable and direct way to get it. I tend not to trust optical to be as rock solid as BNC.

Also, it seems to be the case that Aggregate Device resamples the signals from the slave devices rather than actually clocking them to the master (see Aggregate Device, Drift Correction). To avoid that, you have to sync the clocks externally, for example with the BNC word clock sync connection.
 
Thanks guys, How would I hook it up with BNC word clock? There is a in and out on each interface?
 
Probably a basic 75 Ω RG59 coaxial cable terminated with BNC would be fine. Connect output to input. You may need use the Presonus app to set the receiving unit (slave) to sync to external word clock, specifically the BNC input (rather than the optical input or the internal clock).
