Weirdly, I stand up when I play during the week 'cos I haven't got a comfy place to sit and the view out of the window is nice.

Today though, I've been on my favourite guitar chair!

Looking and sounding great man! I think that the Chappers will love it :)

Is Andertons holding some sort of competition? I only watch their channel every once in a while, really only when Chappers and the Captain do a segment. They're both such loveable dorks, I like watching them goof off together. I've probably watched that Miku pedal review 5 times by now.

*edit* I just watched the video describing the competition. It's a riff contest where you can only use the 1st 4 frets of your instrument. Interesting concept, and I think that JDude pretty much nailed it. Well done, and good luck.

If you have 30 min to spare, watch this.

This is Joe Bonermaster giving an informal fucking clinic on how to manipulate a Les Paul. Any guitar, really. And he rattles on about amps and techniques and shit. My favorite part was about big volume and headroom and how he lightly rips on mushy gain and low volume and sim rigs. Lol. I really liked this.

Yeah, it's the Chappers contest to win his rig. I don't Normally play riffs like that, my stud is almost always slower, darker and sludgier.

Tad, the first vid I saw of them was the miku review too. Piss funny!

Like the man's music or not, and I personally do, He knows his way around the instrument. Many play, but only a handful truly master all the nuances of the instrument. He's one.

I agree. I don't like his music, but I could listen to him do stuff like that all day long.

Yup. unfortunately we live in a world where everyone wants everything done 'for' them. Just give me a preset to give me that (insert favorite artist) tone. lazy and disgusting in my eyes.
Anything done well requires actual skill. Only way to get the skill is to put in the work.

Man, go tell that to the halfassed goofs in the other areas of this site. They need that post more than anyone. When I say it it just hurts people's feelings. :(

Miner: I just picked up a Crybaby 535Q on craigslist for $90. The thing doesn't even have a scratch on it. Used it at my last gig and it's great. They are worth having around. In fact, I have 4 at the moment. I'll probably unload one of them soon. I have an 80's Morley that I bought new and an early 90's GCB-95 that I got for $20. If you want one, let me know. The one I'll be selling is only 4 or 5 years old and I'd happily work with you on it.

Cool Bill, lemme know what you have in mind dude, I appreciate the offer dude!!!

The 535Q is my favorite wah. I've been through a few of them, and that one's a keeper to me.

Honestly, I don't have much experience with wah pedals. I have screwed around with my preacher nephew's old Morley, but again, I don't have much experience with 'em...

Edit: Just remembered I did have the POD X3L, which had like 5-6 emulations of different models, & it did have an actual wah pedal built-in, but as far as real wah pedals, very little experience on my end...

I think the bonermaster can make anything sound good. Even a champ in a toilet stall.

Ia that a vocal-sounding wah?
I like the ones that almost sound like a talk box. That's what I want.

But I actually have little experience with wahs .... one of the few pieces of gear I don't know much about.

The 535 might be able to do that sound, but I've never tried it that way. It has sweep and range and filter adjustments, but I just leave mine kind of in a generic wah setting.
