Maschine mikro mk 2

Hey i Just bought my Maschine Mikro MK 2 I have installed it by CD everything went through, only problem is when I open Maschine by itself no sounds are coming from the pad when i hit it , and when I push play no instruments start going off. If i was to open it in logic everything starts to work only thing is when i record it seems to overlap if anybody could help me out that'd be great.

Remember that Maschine is a MIDI device, not an instrument. My understanding is that in and of itself it's nothing but pretty lights.
