Mixdown session - limiter questions

I found the solution finally. My eq on my master bus was great in headphones and monitors I thought at the time and tried the "kick" preset and sounded 5 times better. I also raised all the track levels way up and in the master I would lower it so the peaks would be in between -6 and -3. Never occurred for me to try this as before I left that alone and had to lower each track so I could have any decent headroom on the mixdown. On the mixdown first thing I did is normalized it to -3. Then added my custom multiband compressor, mastering...and with that function I took the loudness maximizer from 20% to 0 and took the widener I had +40% to -40% and with that and brought the mid peak down a tad and just added a little low and high and customized my hard limiter setting from -.01 max and could boost at least 4 db without distortion. Then saved it with a dithering of triangular 44100 16 bit and done.

Lol. No offense man, but that ain't mastering. That's total overkill. You sure it sounds better?

no, the best advise is never to listen to you. I figured it out on my own and my only mistake was explaining it to you or whatever it is you do or think you know what your doing.
