I got here late. So is the troll gone for an entire year? I sure hope so.
You only need worry if I think you are a troll. Dont threaten me like you are some powerful entitity, you are a bird brained dolt who cant understand a thread.
Ill say whatever I want to, it shows you are spending more time on a foum than recording. I havent been here since i signed up the other day.
I dont know what or who you thought, but im not he/she pinhead.
Why would it bother you so much you're compelled to sign up at a home recording forum to bitch about home recordings??

Yes, it's a hobby, it's fun. but it's also extremely expensive, time consuming and fruitless.
But I think people dive into it because they think SOMETHING will come out of it. You wont spend thousands of dollars on equiptment when
a simple four track recorder with a sm57 mic and an acoustic guitar is all you need to make a recording of your song.
And it's not a knock on producing. Producing music is a skill just as important as writing or playing or singing, and maybe some think they will one day be a top notch producer, nothing wrong with that. But I wonder how home recording has become the monster it has.
Plenty of people are making money on it, but usually not the ones doing it![]()
It all starts and ends with the song...........
Being able to Sing it with Precision, Play it with Precision & Arrange & Produce it with Precision are all part of the process.
it is very rare indeed for one person to be able to do ALL 5 things @ a professional level.
I can do all 5 of the above items.....However, the first 2 are the only chores I handle all the way through. Writing & Singing I will always do myself....
However, I will always bring in my Producer to Arrange & Produce. He will also hire the Session Players. Why? because my area of expertise is NOT in these areas.
I only do Home recording to get a "scratch demo" BEFORE I use my Producer....
But Home recording allows me to flesh out some ideas before we cut the final version...
It all starts and ends with the song
Jealousy is an ugly thing. It makes people act stupidly. This guy either....
A) Can't afford the gear he really wants so he lashes out at those who can
B) Can't use the gear he has so he lashes out at those that can
C) Can't play worth a fuck so he lashes out at those that can
D) Can't write a song so he lashes out that those that can
E) Can't enjoy music without linking it to commercial success so he lashes out at those that can
This dude's problem could be any one of those things. I'm betting it's all of them.
And if your wagering skills are as good as,,, ahh never mind.
Just listen to this song, Hang onto Love, by Pentultima, a home recording.Comments welcomeHang onto Love - YouTube
Any critique on Greg's work?![]()
Most music sucked even way before home studios, so you're point is stupid.
That's absurd, and frankly, completely stupid. Naive and delusional people are what they are. Nothing leads them to be that way.Home studios dont produce the albums released mainstream. Bad music is bad music, but the home recording industry us misleading
aspiring songwriters and musicians into think that is the answer.
And this upsets you, why? You don't have to listen to everything recorded by everyone ever. You don't have to listen to anything.seems like a great solution "I dont have the money to pay 5000 dollars on every song i wrote, so the only solution is buy my own studio
and do it all myself"
Anyway, you can't blame home recording if you think music has gotten worse. That's idiotic. Blame the internet. Blame social media. People have always made shitty music. People have always recorded shitty music. 4-track cassette recorders have always been around, cheap, and easy to use. The difference was back then there was no way to distribute it. Now they can flood the landscape with it via the internet.
After exposing him in this thread, there's no way he's gonna have anything good to say.
