Quit spamming the fuggin' thread!

Just kidding. Welcome back, mate! :D

yeah, with dropbox it does it automatically with the same link...genius methinks ;)

Alright then. So I can't A/B them, but this rendition seems to have more going for it than the first posted version from what I can recall from my feeble memory.
Seems more radio ready.

thanks Henry...just little bits tweaked here and there...actually according to my mix numbers, 21 little bits here and there lol

Not just radio ready, it's album quality. Now I have to go back and read the whole thread to see what you did. :D

Yeah, the vocals sound way better with the new treatment you've given them. Overall, I think this mix is big improvement.

It's really just some of the very lowest notes you hit at the end of phrases, particularly towards the beginning, that sound off to me.

Don't worry about that tune...maybe you can transform it into something cool.

I had the same trouble the last one I "sang" remember and I just cut the tails off altogether lol

dunno what I can do...actually to be honest I can punch in something more in tune if I wasnt so friggin lazy :)

thanks for giving it another run through mate

New mix/tweak works a treat.
the busier of your bass loops reminds me of Echo & the Bunnymen - specifically from over the wall.
That's a good thing! - for me the Bunnies could only manage a decent 3/4s of a 12" EP. When they were good (over the wall - the cutter) they were magnificent & the bass was crucial to that magnificence.

thanks Ray..i was a big fan off them over that time period when The Cutter/Back of love came out...brilliant band live

someone on another site mustve clicked my sig link and said...the vocals are out of tune...lol

so im pulling it and they are getting re-recorded by a guest singer, shouldve done that in the first place ;)

They were a great band at that time, though unfortunately Ian McCulloch continues to underline what an arse he is when he opens his mouth to do anything other than sing. Count yourselves lucky to be cuckooned from him in America.

Just listened back again, and without the original for comparison I can't pick up the differences - still sounding good though kc. Think it'd be a shame to re-record the vocals, they fit the song imo.

ah they new ones are from Industrial Okie and he does this stuff like in a different league from me...

I think im OK when its up tempo but this naked they come across pretty bad tbh

I have higher standards now Im getting better at mixing so I may have to fire myself :D

Well I'm glad I kept & burnt a copy of the most recent mix. It's the bench mark.

Damn dude, crank 'em out don't you.

I like. Nice work.

Clarify, did you say that the it's Okie on vocals, or is that you?

Hey Doobs thats me, Okies going to redo the vocals as these are pretty woeful contrary to the nice comments in here...he's got the perfect sound for this period/genre

I'll post up the new version in here or maybe remix it for another "Original Song Contest" if the first one goes well.
