This will be my final post on the Home Recording site! I joined about 3 years ago,(I think. one loses track at my age). During that time I have gone from newbie to senior member, which has to do with the number of comments I've posted and absolutely nothing to do with recording skills or knowledge acrued. I've searched through each subject category for any bit of knowledge that might assist me in my own pursuits as a home recordist and found little of value. What I have learned is that the average contributors to this site range from totally ignorant to knowledgeable, pro studio operators. Most are in the first category. I've suffered insults, slurs, irrevelent comments and downright putdowns by some folks who probably talk a better game than they could actually perform. I even put up a site where my own songs could be reviewed and commented on. To my surprise I only recieved great compliments, both on the recordings and my musical talent! To those folks I again humbly appreciate your compliments. The main thing that I've gleaned from all this is, I am probably more advanced in my recording ability than most of the members here, and that includes several that set them selves up as experts! As I stated earlier, I am too old to waste my time composing comments and answers here. I'd rather spend it at honing my skills hands on in hope that each recording I do will be better than the last. To the few that seriously tried to help, thanks again. To the egocentric snobs who insist on winning a debate more than relevant participation to reach a harmonious answer to a problem I say, you too are wasting your time trying to prove to others that you are something your not and are not capable of being! There are more than likely people who will join as I did and, for their sake I hope they find this site more meaningful and rewarding than I. I have to assume that I probably heve looked at the world through rose colered glasses which is no doubt a result of my upbringing and the society I grew up in. However, if my experiences here are typical of what society is becomming I will have no part in it! Good luck to you young folks. Trust your ears and your insticts and the music. It will lead you to your goals. Take constructive criticism in good faith and ignore the rest! Goodbye and Good luck.
