I Just got myself a nice new Behringer Xenyx 1832FX, and i wanna get some nice speakers for it (currently using computer speakers). Looking For a nice pair for around 100$ because moneys tight right now. If someone can give me a couple that they may have experienced before (i play and record alot of metal).

Thanks,
Patrick

If you want good monitors, you're gonna have to up your budget :o

$100.00???? You might be able to get the cardboard boxes good monitors come in for that price. HEHEHE! I got a set of Yamaha HS50M's and so far I really like them. You can find them new at Junkbay stores for as little as $149.00 each with free shipping. Good luck.

Ya i mean the 100 is just for the winter once my seasional job starts up in summer ill be making some real money compared to shoveling haha. If i have to should i wait till i get some extra $ and save for some nice ones. If so give me a couple ideas

What I'd do in your situation is get the best (most accurate) pair of headphones
you can get for that price. They should do til you get some cash together for
monitors.

You can get good headphones for that price. You'd have a very hard time trying
to get good monitors for that price though.

I find even the best headphones are impossible to mix with. It is just really hard to come up with a headphone mix that will work on any type of speaker since you are taking air and the room out of it completely. You would be better off with buying used 70's or 80's hi-fi speakers for $100.

Yeah, seriously, I'd save your money until you're ready to spend a little more. If you spend $100 on a cheapo set today, you won't get barely any of your money back out of them when you are ready to buy something decent.

Unless you pay way more, you're better off with a pair of the best home stereo speakers you can find.

Even the cheapest Sony speakers sound, to my ears, like Sony stuff. I have an old Sony ghetto blaster that the speakers are good enough that they can be used for mixes.

Though headphones would help, a good pair will cost over $100 and still you'd want something else as a reference check too.

I know you want to get something NOW, but, I would hold off, and the $100 you'd spend on crap now my be the extra $100 you will need for something you really want later.

Alesis M1 Active 320 USB Studio Monitor Pair $99.00.

Heard these at a friends house and was blown away by the sound coming out of them. Crystal clear and good definition.

These would work great until you could spring for more.

Check 'em out.

I'm not one that can hold out for new gear but hang on to your money.

Ya i actually did get a nice pain of headphones for x mas. I dont know how well this would work but i have two surround sound systems in my room a Daewoo and a philips would those work till then and if so what would be the best way to hook em up. Sorry bout all the questions just starting to get into everything

I forgot who said but "Price doesn't beat quality". (Ahem....Behringer)
