Makes you wonder what else AH doesn't know anything about.....
Ummm.... how to tell a convincing bullshit story???

I really wanted pink. Mostly because pink really reflects who I am.... easy to get along with, never an unkind word for anyone, and I abhor excessively colorful language (especially on bulletin boards) ....yeah, pink would've been nice.![]()
I'm still hoping for dark bronze too. Will look nice and "industrial", rather than like a toy from china![]()
Bronze anodized not look cheap?
In my "fashionable early 80's" house all the window sills, door thresholds, and sliding glass door frame are all anodized bronze.
I guess at least the preamps will match. lol
What a load of crap. This guy has been hammering AH with all kinds of expletives for two days now. No one should believe anything JTC says. Warm and fuzzy, he ain't.
From American Heritage Dictionary:

2. A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.
3. The use of sarcasm. See synonyms at wit.
A little off the current topic, but I'm still a little disappointed about the ACM-300. I'm perfectly happy with the substitution of the ACM-200, but I just think the 300 looks cooler.
Juan
Yeah, I was interested in the 300 for the pop filter (which I probably wasn't going to use much, anyway), and I was too much of a wuss to get 2 200's for stereo, so I suppose things worked out for meYes, I was too. And to think, they tell me this AFTER the order was placed.
I stated I would replace it with the 200 or a refund. The cash value of the 200 would still be more than the refund. If you don't like it, you could easily sell it for more than your refund. The 200 is the mic that I used on that thin vox that I posted some time ago
I'm really sorry to see all the negative reactions to Alan Hyatt's posts here.
I know Alan pretty well, and I don't think he was calling anybody a liar or dissing the group buy. I believe he was trying to give everybody a heads up on the way 797 does business, and warn people that 797 doesn't always do what the customer wants.
Yes, Alan can come off harsh in posts, but please let me assure everybody that he's not trying to rain on our parade, or trash these new products. Alan is a pretty damn nice guy (for a New Yorker, anyway) and he really means well. In the years I've come to know him, I always found him to be honest, helpful, and he'll always "tell it like it is" (although you hafta remember that's filtered through his perceptions, just as we all do).
I now own some SP mics and a few Joe Meeks preamps, and I urge everybody here to just kinda chill out about this whole thing. I'm sure Alan didn't mean to try to kill anybody's enthusiasm for these new preamps; just give us a heads up as to what we really might get, based on 797's usual business practices. It's no biggie, people.

believe it or not, i have heard rumours that a completely unknown man named Rupert N. designed this circuit.

Alan is not calling Chance a liar from what I can see. It sounds to me like Alan is saying that 797 told him that it's 100% their design. Alan is saying 797 told him that they did not put Chance's changes into these units and we should probably expect stock 797 units (which I will still love to death at these prices).Harvey, with all due respect, he did call him a liar, flat out.
The last thing I want to do is argue with you, but you can read it for yourself:
Alan from post 514 on Gearslutz:
"Not to drive it home, they all said this is 100% designed by 797 audio, no prototype or circuits were sent to them, and no samples were ever sent out by 797 Audio for them to listen to... Ok, fine its still a deal, but they should not have said things they did, when they did nothing. I spoke to John MA today!!!! So here is what you will all get in a different color and Chances name..."
And the final remark in the post:
"As I said, just know where they come from and who designed them...not that it matters, but in the end, you all deserve to be told the truth, even if you bag on me for telling you...."
I really don't see how you could suggest otherwise.
1) they immediately took chance's design (or retrofit or whatever you want to call it) and called it their own some ten months ago when they started working with chance. 2) we actually ARE getting one of their designs (someone mentioned CL).
