Actually, I'm programming a credit card terminal to accept gift cards...setting up a SSL certificate on a processing server....and in between, playing with my "new to me" reel to reel player! :p

hmmmm... the pics do look pretty nice. I don't see Alan as really saying anything bad about them. Who knows perhaps he passed on them because of the group buy? But perhaps his motivation is more along the lines of trying to discourage them from doing this in the future. Hence, the mention of the LA2 clone? to dissuade other companies from picking it up-- which would mean less sales.
Who knows... just a thought.
They look like they should be great for the price! I don't care for the blue too much, the "bronze" might be nice, can't tell until we see it.
 
This is all further evidence that the entertainment and drama of group buys is easily worth the price of the products.

I'm still hoping for dark bronze too. Will look nice and "industrial", rather than like a toy from china:D

I really wanted pink. Mostly because pink really reflects who I am.... easy to get along with, never an unkind word for anyone, and I abhor excessively colorful language (especially on bulletin boards) ....yeah, pink would've been nice. :p
 
It's nice to have the pics. I'm thanking my lucky stars that Chance didn't go with the blue... it looks like ass. While my preference was white, I think the dark bronze color will also look killer in my rack and will keep it from looking cheap like the blue (wait, these ARE cheap!!!!!!! :) )

The downside of all this drama is that I'd managed to get these dang pres out of my head and avoid three months of Christmas kiddy anticipation jitters. Now that has all resurfaced. And knowing the manufacturer gives me more confidence in the build quality and thus adding to my Christmas kiddy jitters.

Yeah, I'm glad that these should be half decent. Will be interesting to see who else starts knocking these out and at what price (....and colour of course!!).

Now see there's the thing that's REALLY gonna kill me. It will be so painful if these are released by Fill-In-The-Blank at $600 a pop and I only bought a couple for myself and DIDN'T buy extra to sell for a profit.

Indeed. I bought a pair of 73's and a pair of 81's with the aim to sell the pair I didn't use as much to pay for the rest of my order.

My concern is that I'll want to keep them all!!

Though if I could make enough to buy a DAV BG1 I'd probably do that, just for a change of colour.

Still, looking forward to them!

i dont know what your talking about. anodize is a hard as nails process. gun receivers and many high wear type items are done in this process. by nature paint doesnt like aluminum and it has to be prepped before being painted.painted aluminum doesnt compare to anodize. read the last line... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anodizing

You know what, I thought exactly the same thing. I got a PM asking me about the same thing. You are absolutely right of course, unless the Chinese view "anodizing" as something different than we do. Makes you wonder what else AH doesn't know anything about.....
