Ok.. I usually am fairly quiet on the boards. I have just been soaking everything in and quietly wait for my pre amps to arrive.
But, everyone loves a conspiracy theory...here is my warped take on this whole situation with Mr. Hyatt....
Mr. Hyatt does indeed go to 797 Audio for his business to oversee his next great creation, or check on exisiting products. While there, his buddy from 797 Audio tells Mr. Hyatt about our little group buy and demonstrates the product. Mr Hyatt is actually amazed at the sound and wants to know the hows and whys of this particular unit, as it sounds way better than the units he had passed on previously. 797 Audio, sadly, says that it is a proprietary design and cannot show it to him. Mr. Hyatt, in a mad desire to get his hands on the schematics for this great sounding pre, jumps on to different forums where the group buy is happening, and accuses Chance of being less than truthful (although still a good guy), the pre-amps sub par (although still a good buy) and yesterdays news as far as he sees. Mr. Hyatt then challenges Chance to prove him wrong and post his schematics on line to refute his claim, but the real motive is so he can see them and steal Chance's ideas to modify and put them in the long awaited, never seen, seldom talked about, vaporware Studio Project two channel "VTB-2" pre-amp, as there is still design and parts issues. My Hyatt then posts pictures on said forums of the outside of the units to prove his claim that the inside of the unit is different then what Chance claims. The group buy particpants dissolve into mass chaos over the pictures due to laughter.
In the end, the group buy participants love cheap grear and trust Chance, and no one really gives a flying crap about Mr. Hyatt's claims anymore and start using their C1's for hammers.
Whew...well there you go. I have laid it all out in black and white, so surely it is the truth!
