There is no need, as I have already completely zwned them:

Jon Bon Hilarious

   :D

One take, baby, no punches, no Autotune. As if you couldn't tell :p Although the flub in the intro was NOT my fault, my boy grabbed the neck while I was playing! Freakin' monkey!

PS I almost sold a mic to a member of the Band. True story. Unfortunately he wanted to use it with a Korg recorder, and Korg basically refused to tell me the tech spec of their product, even though their product manager recommended me to the guy in the first place  Thanks for nothing, Korg!

That would have been my third most famous user, after Harvey, and a guy who said he might use it for drum overheads on a session for Eddy Grant. That's right, baby, I'm gonna rock down to Electric Avenue! And then I'm taking it higher!!

PPS Tele, you can stick me on "lead" bass if you wanna :D
Very important rule, kiddies. Always remember and don't ever forget: Alcohol and recording DO NOT mix....

:p:D

OK, I will organize "Helpless" if that is alright with Tele. I don't have a functioning steel string at the moment, can anybody start us off with the chords?

C, G, F repeated

Say, when doing a medley is it best to do these in the same key?

" I'd like to request that all instruments be real -Yeah, I mainly meant the drums"
I love that Greg!
That was the best thing about the 1st 5 Queen LPs - Proudly labelled No Synths & then - News of the World & the worst use of synths in the lexicon.
Oh, back on track...mind if I watch?
I feel awful that I wasn't on the invitation list, (awfully relieved actually as I'm not good at that sort of stuff), I don't wanna play football for the coach, I'm a little too short, light & fat for linebacker - can't sing so can't make the glee club BUT I'd be an ace water boy (tap not bottled)!!!!
medley in the same key is easybut can be boring - pick a not so good one and use the refrain as a bridge to modulate to another key for another song to keep things interesting.
See - that was pure unadulterated vitamin B stained water - I can do it, I can do it!
Anyone watched the DVD of Living with War yet? All war - All the Time! ha!
oh, If Levon's not in who's steering this ship? (bad band joke - water boy value adding)

Just for that you're going in for backing vocals. You wanna play some guitar?

Okay Ray Cs contribution had me thinking. The first thing we should do would be to make some big ol chord charts for each song with some tempo guides for Greg L.

Actually, since I have no idea what we're doing here, and I still don't even really know anything about the Last Waltz, this is what I'd like yall to do:

Someone - anyone - please record a scratch track of the rhythm guitar and bass to a click so I can listen to it. I don't know any of these songs yall are talking about. If I can hear yalls version, and then compare it to the real version, I can formulate the drums.

Cool, lemme see what I can dig up for those concerned.

My impression of this is that it'll be a bit boring for you - kick and snare, etc.

That's fine. It's better that way since I've never heard any of these songs before. I don't want to stand out. I just want real drums on this thing.

Or, maybe we can do a huge rock extravaganza version! :D

If we do go for a transition between songs in a medley, you might get to do some fills/solo?

Nah, whatever you like. Anything from a funeral dirge to the hardcore version is OK with me.

Great! Well provided this works, maybe we can do one scratch track at a time for each song. That should help Greg get the feel for them.

I am not busy this AM, so I should be able to do bass and vocals over your track. I might throw in a piano fill or two, but my piano is out of tune so I'll have to see if I can avoid those notes. On the other hand, that ol' time player piano sound might be the ticket

It might well be. But if I recall that song, it isn't the most technical piano playing, I'm fond of plain old vamping. So you wanna do 'Helpless' for real? I think I can play the acoustics tight to a click, maybe add some lapsteel too.

If the sound quality sucks it's because I'm using those god-awful MS2 mics......................

:D

P.S do you think on the last chorus/outro chorus you can lift things a full tone to D? It might make things easier if we pursue 'I shall be released' next?

You want a Star Search modulation on Neil Young? Go ahead, I guess, you've got the first track.

I'll never do a drum solo - ever. I don't mind fills and stuff, but no solos for me. I have to hold on to some musical integrity. :D

So if this is a medley, which songs do yall have in mind? I can probably find some of the stuff on Napster to get an idea of what I'm up against here.

Helpless - Neil Young/Crosby Stills Nash and Young

I Shall Be Released - Bob DYlan & The Band

The Weight - The Band

Okay I'll see if I can find those songs and get to learning.

Would it help if I wore a corduroy jacket with suede elbow patches? :D
