I am happy with the actual mix but I am going to put the song up at Garageband.com for some objective feedback etc and I just want to make sure the polishing(in no way could what I do be called 'mastering') I've done on the final mix with EQ/compression/limiting etc is of a decent enough quality. The first one I did with Kjaerhus Golden EQ and the Classic Compressor and Limiter. The second one with T-Racks. The T-Racks one is louder and IMO more together but I'd like some opinions as a) my knowledge of mastering and T-Racks itself is pretty limited and b) I want to put up the song sounding as good as possible(with what I have) as this is a pretty new project and the singer is only 15 and it'd be nice to get some feedback on how she is doing at Garageband and the like :) Feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm thinking I've maybe taken out some of the dynamics with the T-Racks one....I'd really appreciate some opinions from some more experienced ears than mine :)

Though it's nicely played, I'm not a fan of the lead guitar. I don't reckon it suits the song, but anyway. Your singer is very good and the song is well mixed and put together as far as I'm concerned.

The vocals seem a bit more powerful in the T-Racks version. In fact the whole mix seems a little more full like it's a db louder. You shouldn't really take my advice except in the form of a casual, layman observer. I think the second version has more appeal that the first.

Thanks, I really appreciate it :) Yeah, I think the T-Racks version is definitely the better too, to my ears everything sounds more 'together'(and obviously louder too, like you said). I just want to make sure I haven't overdone things etc. Thanks again :)

Yeah, I think it has better qualities...it does sound together more.
