Can anyone identify this directional microphone?

Hi I've inherited a directional microphone but there are no markings on it to say what it is, who made it, etc. It's powered by a single AA battery and appears to work. Would anyone here recognise it? I don't need it, so was just wondering whether to put it on eBay or in the bin :-) Thanks...

Miss Nothing Cover - Mix feedback appreciated

Hi Forum I recently did this recording of a band playing Miss Nothing by The Pretty Reckless. It's a live recording with the whole band playing in the same room. I'm pretty happy with it in fact, but as always some constructive criticism on the mix and recording is welcome. Thanks David

    Have I got weird ears?

Hi Forum I was playing some sine sweeps to check my room and noticed that the stereo image would shift depending on the frequency. To make sure I wasn't going mad I tried again with some headphones and sure enough some frequencies sound more left or right than others. Is this normal? Dave

    Singing Drummers

Hi I'm mixing a session with a drummer singing backing vocals. The trouble I have now is all the snare and cymbals in his vocal mic. Because the vocals need to be high in the mix the drum bleed is actually overpowering the proper overheads and is making all the high end sound a bit...

What's the best way of getting 12+ mic inputs?

I sometimes record whole bands and to do this properly would need at least 12 mics recording simultaneously into a DAW. Most bigger interfaces out there have at best 8 built in pre's, are there any with 12 or 16? I am thinking about getting two M-Audio Profire 2626's, and ADAT'ing one into the...

    mp3 bit rates

Out of interest I tried an experiment last night with differing mp3 bit rates and thought I would share my conclusions. First I extracted a track from a CD as a wav, then using Nero Wave Editor (this is how I usually make mp3's) I made a 128Kbs/160Kbs and 256kbs mp3 using the "highest...
