I think these things are a great value in their price range. But my one complaint is that their 'rim' system makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to use any sort of mic clamp on the rack toms. Which is really annoying for me when I'm doing sound. That's all I got.

I was listening to some classic rock this weekend and noticed that Steve Miller's drummer was pretty damn good. He was laying down funky grooves and innovative patterns in main stream radio way before I can recall anyone else. Does anyone know who it was?

I'm in a new room with new monitors and I can't seem to get a decent level on bass and sometimes the kick. I mean, I need to really crank it when mixing to show up when burned to disc and played somewhere else. It's ridiculous how loud I need to mix it in. I'm guessing it's some room mode or...

So my studio is setup in a basement with concrete formed outer walls. I'm in the north woods of Wisconsin, it's really cold. There's forced air heat that is way too noisey to run during sessions. My space heater is also noisey and just not cutting it. Are there any better solutions...

So I'm wondering how everyone is setting up their boxes from one room to the next. Are you using snake-type boxes, or recessed panels? Which is easier/better? I'm just getting done framing and almost ready to 'thread the needle'.
