Generally inexpensive cables will only start to be a serious dettrement over longer runs. If you need under 6 feet the hosa difference will likley be imperceptable. Also if your not real comfortable and experianced with soldering (especialy connectors) I advise not doing a snake cable...

Computer. Software, Reason mabye. This is the simplest way, but of course you can get as complicated and expensive as you want. Do you want racks of outboard gear? All software? Both? Niether:eek: It really depends, you need to be more specific.

Yeah you could get a simple little "y" splitter out of the computer and run a wire to both sets or you could try simply plugging the headphones strait into the comp. and see if that is acceptable, though it will likley be too quiet.

Or just a long keyboard cable if you don't require too much in the way of remote controling.

I get fatuiged useing laptops too damn quick. My eyes hurt, the keyboards are tough to use and all integrated mice suck. Other than that excellent when away from the box.

Search the archives a bit for this, I believe many questions have been answered. The jist of it is that usb doesn't have nearly as good bandwidth as pci therefore your recordings can't be at as high of a resolution. Usb 2.0 promises to be better than its predessesor but fire wire is the best...

media player will probably figure it out, you may have to select digital playback or somthing similar in the options though. Winamp will likley need the approprite plugin.

PLay the cd in winamp, or wmp, or anythig like that. They can send the sound through the pci bus.
