Wiring problem...

For those of you good with the wiring here is my dilema.

I wired my guitar to the specs posted, and it works great except that when the tone control is turned all the way on, all sound is cut completly, But if i turn it back down just a little bit everything is fine. Does anyone see a problem with the diagram or is it me?

...it sounds as if the tone control has a mechanical failure--the shaft is over-rotating and causing a short...try replacing it.

Does the tone control do what it's supposed to otherwise? (Besides the problem at the end of it's rotation). In other words, does it affect the tone or is it acting like a second volume control?
