    Question for fellow C-1 owners

I've had this mic for almost two years now, and I'm still loving it. But is it just me or are the high's extremely sensitive? I have to de-ess almost every vocal recording we do. Also, do you guys recommend de-essing before compression, or de-essing the compressed wave?

Hardware Question For Tracking Vocals... Compressor/limiter/preamp??

Sup, I record vocals for several artists, with different voices and styles. I have to change the settings drastically if they're laid back, or more intense... and with each individual's voice. I don't mind adjusting settings a little... but I have to use drastically differently settings for...

...or can it be plugged directly into a soundcard? A friend of mine is looking for the best dynamic mic (I heard too many great things about the 58) and all he has is a PC. What do you guys suggest?

    XXX MB Free??

I'm sure everyone's had Cool Edit tell them to free up some harddrive space... and normally, doing that works. But recently, it's been acting really strange. I have 5+ gigs available on my harddrive.. but cool edit's status bar only shows 467 megs free. I've emptied my recycling bin, cleared...

    Studio Projects B3 vs C1

They have the exact same frequency response (20~20000Hz.), output impedance ( <200 Ohm. ), load impedance ( >1000 Ohm. ), and current consumption ( <2.5mA). The C1 comes with a shock mount, and the B3 can switch from omni to cardioid, and figure 8. I would think that'd make the B3 better, but...

    I've narrowed down my search...

Sup y'all, I'm trying to throw together a semi-professional bedroom booth (vocal mic and pre-amp) for under $500. I'm a newbie here, so I didn't wanna make a "what mic should I get" post without doing a lot of searching first. From some of your reviews, I think I've narrowed it down to...
