Zoom H6 TRS (¼″) Inputs Completely Dead — Anyone Else Experienced This?

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a hardware issue with my Zoom H6 (purchased December 2024). My built-in XY capsule and all XLR inputs (1–4) work fine—but none of the ¼″ TRS inputs function, even after using phantom power, factory resets, multiple cables, and adapters.

According to the manual, Inputs 1–4 support TRS line/instrument input and phantom power (via XLR) Creative COW+9Facebook+9Reddit+9Gearspace+5Zoom+5Reddit+5. Despite proper connection and configuration, there's zero signal from any TRS input, which strongly suggests a hardware failure.

I’ve found other users reporting similar symptoms:

“If you slightly pull out the minijack, you can find a position in which the sound will pass. Not clean but…” — user Yuriy T on HomeRecording.com HomeRecording.com
Also on Reddit:

“If you plug in a TRS 1/4” plug, the H6 assumes it's balanced … stereo signals cancel out and you get nothing.” — r/podcasting Zoom+15Reddit+15Gearspace+15
Are there others here with a Zoom H6 whose TRS inputs died or behave inconsistently despite correct configuration? Any suggestions if Zoom has acknowledged this or fixed it in later firmware?

Symptoms:

  • No signal through ¼″ TS/TRS inputs regardless of phantom power or adapter.
  • Built-in XY mic works fine.
  • XLR-connected mic works normally.
  • Factory-reset has no effect.
  • No response from Zoom Support yet.
Thanks in advance for any help or shared experiences 🙏
