brandrum - thanks for the listen and the comments. Listening again in my truck, the vocals might come down just a bit. BTW those Blue Sky monitors look pretty cool – do you have a sub woofer hooked up and how do you like it?
Dogman - thanks for listening and the feedback. I think I'm getting a better handle on this mixing thing - the music seems to be coming out more even. I’m playing more with my multi-band compressor after hearing the difference you made when you used one on my prior tune (Dogman Mastering Services

). But I still need to check into the vocal levels as you and brandrum mentioned.
NYMorningstar - thanks for checking this out. Glad you like the mix and where things sit. I've been getting a lot of my tips from this board. The compression is just a fixed setting but it could be compressing harder due to overall volumes at the beginning. I'll look at that fader ride during the verses too…
Gorty Yee Haw – that string bending on the solo is something I just threw in when writing this. I thought it sounded good and have kept it ever since. CCR – cool I jammed along with Cosmos Factory for months when I was younger. Maybe that paid off

. As far as lyrics go, I must give credit to my better half for most of my inspiration – she makes it easy.
Aspiring – Hey, thanks for listening. I’ll follow up on those vocals as you suggested…glad you find the rest of the mix ok too…
DavidK – Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Appreciate the reference to CCR and Bare Nekked Ladies. Wish I had a million dollars for real though

. My sister says it sounds a bit like Blue Rodeo too. Comparisons to all those bands is a big compliment (thanks). BTW – how is your mastering / CD going? Did you find some cover art you liked? I kind of liked the original choice myself. Keep us posted!
