I have a spare bedroom studio... need your input on this song... its typical of my work considering I dont know what mixing/mastering is... basically i record the tracks and adjust a few levels and add some effects and call it a day. I would like to improve on this technique.

Doug, 1st impressions: the drums sound REALLY fake - the bass drum particularly.
Your voice seems too bassy in the spoken bits/intro - if you recorded close to the mike it'll be proximity effect and will require adjustment of the mic settings (if it has it) or cutting some bass out.
The reverb or 2nd vocal in the extremities of the stereo image during those sections is overpowering.
Good ideas, good song but probably too much reverb/delay & effects (like on the guitar - it hasn't any focus) overall.
Try the mix dry and only add the essential FX & even them minimally so.
