Too many possibilites. :D

Guitars: 1974 Gibson SG-lefty, 1977 Martin D-35L, 1985 Martin D-45L Custom, 2006 Gibson ES-356-lefty, 1999 Fender P-Bass- lefty. 1947 Martin Model A mando converted to-------- lefty. :p

Amps: 1970 Fender Twin silver face w/push-pull master vol-- currently out of commision :( , 2000 Rivera Quiana 55-212-- currently with THD Yellowjackets onboard--- now it can almost be played in the house :eek: , Keyboard Specialties-modded Leslie 147/122, JoeMeek VC6Q preamp, pair of GT Bricks.

Moog Voyager Electric Blue synth. ;)

Moog Theramin

I dig the classic sounds and really believe analog is the only way to get "the" sound. No amp modelers over here. :D

FX:

Original Mutron III and Octave Divider-- from early 80's :cool:

Morley Pro Flanger

Morley Rotating wah-- ebay DOA-and-revived! Rotating effect is noisy and cheesey but the wah sounds damned good.

MXR 10-band graphic EQ

Moog MF 102 ring modulator

Moog MF-104 super delay

Moog VX-351 and CP-251 signal processors

KLON Centaur

Teese RMC3 wah

Mayer Voodoo-Vibe

Lexicon MPX-1

Roland SDE-1000. Original owner. Traded a Tascam Portastudio for this back in 85 or 86. It's been a long time. Original battery is still good too. Now watch I'll fire it up this afternoon and it will be dead. :rolleyes:

Best $$$ I think I've spent so far was for a Peterson VS-II tuner. :p

Some cool setups are the Mutron III and Octave Divider through the Leslie, or the Teese > KLON through the Leslie. In fact, just about any kind of good wah-effect through a Leslie sounds cooler than hell. :D

The Minimoog> KLON> MF-104 through the Leslie is EPIC. :cool:

My Leslie has a 12AU7 pre tube, and it's really not as loud as I was hoping for. One afternoon I swapped the U for a 12AT7 for about 5 minutes and man that amp got BIG FAST!!! I'd sure like to know if I could bump up to at least a 12AY7 because that overdriven sound through the Leslie is the shit.

The Moog 104 delay does just over a second of analog delay. It has CV inputs so you can change the parameters with a footpedal or an oscillator or envelope. :cool: It can do some trippy pitch-shifting stuff, and delay times down to about 40ms so it has a kinda retro-verb slap sound at shortest times. It's very smooth and has a nice high-end rolloff on the delay. Does clean and dirty too.

The Rivera is really too much amp for the room. I wanted something more than 30-40 watts for the clean Fender sound with plenty of headroom-- like Jerry used to play :cool: -- and I got it! At some point I'm gonna get a Weber MASS Lite and some Beam Blockers to tone it down a bit.

Lately I've had a hard-on for a small 5-15 watt Champ or Deluxe clone. Building one of the Weber or Mojo kits would be funner than hell!!!! The Sligos/Marsh/Richters on Ebay look pretty cool too.

Setup used to be full of stuff. Now:
Gibson SG/Epi LP/homemade violin guitar -> Boss GT-8 -> Musicman HD130 -> Marshall 1960A
Simple, but effective.

my cheap jackson dk2 into my cheap hughes & kettner edition blue 30r...
sounds cheap? nooooooooo... sounds killer blues! :)

it's amazing, I still can't believe it.

Rocktron Progap Ultra ->> Rocktron Pro Q ->> Rocktron Intellifex

Guitar is a toss up between an 89 HM Strat and a Carvin DC747 custom.

Style of music is progressive rock and progrressive metal.

For live gigs, the rack setup may not cut it, so I'll use an Ampeg VH-140CH ->> Rocktron ProQ ->> DOD FX-91 Delay ->> Ibannez Flanger ->> Boss Ch-1 Chorus

Gibson LP classic->Boss CS3->Traynor YCV80->THD HotPlate

Influences as far as guitar playing would be Randy Rhoads, Trey Anastasio, Jerry Garcia, Jimmy Page, Mick Ronson.

American Strat => Epiphone Valve Junior.

(Oh yeah, with a lead in between. Most of the time. :) )

This is what I use for my live set up:
Rivera Fandango 55-112.
Fender American strat with a Seymour Duncan stacked hotrail at the bridge.
Hamer 335 knock off for slide.
Cry baby wah.

My favorite setup is:

Fender Strat through Mesa Nomad 45 head, Vox 212 cab (open back).
Big muff (US modell) and EH Memory man.

Wow!

Hey this is pretty cool here! I can't believe the variety and the amount of various components you all have that I have never even heard of! Just when you think you have a hint of a clue, huh??? By the way - jammed with the band last night with the Line 6 Spider 3 half stack for the first time, and the thing is sick. My LP sounded like someone else's - as in, someone way better than me!!!! I never realized that my old sound/setup sounded so completely shitty! Is it possible to have actually found a rig that I don't want to make changes to???? :eek:

Peavey 5150 II head, 4x12 avatar [vintage 30's], 8 space rack with power conditioner, alesis midiverb 3, art 15 band EQ, alesis 3630 compressor, bbe sound enhancer.

fucking metaaaaaaaaaaaaalll haha. between the buried and me, all that remains, dream theater, glass casket, etc, and pop punk influence like just surrender, cartel, four year strong.

i play in

myspace.com/fortywinters

check it out. new recordings from our ep come out in a week :cool: :p

My early 80’s beat to shit Fender USA 57 reissue Strat (with Texas specials) to an old TS-808 then to my Vox Wah plugged into my Fender Vibro-King (blonde) or my mid 70’s Vibrolux Reverb. For bigger stages I use both amps.
Pretty simple but it sounds great.

late 80s '62 r.i. strat with old duncan quarter pounder at bridge.
Shure wireless
Old Crybaby
Old Distortion+
Old rat
Old Ibanez Digital Delay
Old Boss Volume pedal
Korg chromatic LED floor tuner that they don't seem to make anymore.
Clean channel of really new Peavey Classic 50 212.

If it's a quiet gig (like a pit gig or corporate), I use an SE-50 too, mostly for the noise gate and EQ. I also have an ibanez chorus (same vintage as the delay) that I use whenever we play anywhere that I might have reason to turn off the rat box (like the moose or something). Otherwise, the rat is on all the time and I use the guitar's volume to back off for non-lead playing.

PRS Custom 24 or Hamer Studio Custom -->
Teese Wizard Wah -->
Barber LTD -->
Loooper
looop 1 --> Visual Sounds H2O
looop 2 --> BOSS DD3 --> Phase 90
looop 3 --> Keeley Modded TS9
Tuner Out --> Boss TU Pedal

The amps change for gig size but it's usually my MESA MKIV head into an Avatar 2X12. EIther a closed back with G12H's or an open back with Vintage 30s.

If its a smaller gig I would take my MESA MKIII or Peavey Classic 30.

Guitars change monthly although my main PRS will always be there.

It's been a while since I've done one of these threads...why not?

The Guitars
PRS Custom 22
Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus
Taylor 410CE

On The Floor
Digitech Whammy
Morley Bad Horsie 2
DMC Ground Control Pro

In The Rack
3 Space Rack Drawer
Rack Light
Furman Power Conditioner
TC Electronic G-Major
Shure Wireless
Mesa Dual Rectifier Head

What It Goes Through
Mesa Standard 4x12 Rectifier Cab

Everything is in road cases except the guitars...just use their regular cases.

No. Let the newness wear off and you'll be thinking of other things. It's a curse.

My favorite setup until last week was:

Ibanez Jem/EBMM 7 string > Mesa Boogie Triaxis > Eventide H3000D/SE in the loop > Mesa Simul Class 2:90 > Marshall 4x12 cab

now it's simpler...

Ibanez Jem/EBMM 7 string > Rocktron Prophesy II > DI to desk. Simple yet effective, especially for recording late at night and I can still hook up the Prophesy II to the rest of the rig through the Simul Class 2:90 if I want to mic up the cab and annoy the neighbours:-)

I'm a caveman:

1964 Hagstrom 12 string electric ----> spectraflex cable ----> 1972 Sound City Concord with Partridge transformer and Jensen Alnico P12Ns.

Biggest tone ever. The thing is a monster, I have to play on 2 1/2 out of 12 even at shows.

Never liked pedals, prefer obscure models of tube amps and guitars instead if I'm not digging on the tone. I blame it on forgetting a patch cable or battery one too many times.
