The Doors' bassist. What was his name again?

HER name was Bobi Jackson. She played bass on Jimi Hendrix's last recording sessions, was the original and only bassist for The Doors (featured on their demos prior to their first release),played upright bass with the NY Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16, and fronted one of the very first all-female bands in the early 70's.

My favorite bassist, not nesacarily best, but damn good and a great guy to hang with after the shows ..........Doug Pinnick of Kings X.

a real technician.....

Billy Sheehan

for sheer technical ability...he's the "yngwie malmsteen" of the bass world.

for sound and feel, i always liked Geddy Lee (rush)

The thread didn't ask who was the best but rather who is your favorite and when we're talking about favorites opinions are all that matter. You need to find a way to relieve some stress in your life if this thread has you this worked up.

THAT was funny. And soooooooooo friggin' true....

I'll agree regarding Doug Pinnick. I think he might even be better than Charles Mingus, since I actually give a shit about King's X.

At the very least, I think we can safely assume that Pinnick would whoop Mingus' ass in a game of basketball.

I was going to say something but I figured it would just encourage his posting.

Cliff Williams(AC/DC) is another good one, playing 8th notes for 2 hours each show is harder than people think would think.
