Also, barefoot...

Take a look at this website:

http://www.audax.com/

They have developed a new technology for cones. It's called HDA: High Definition Areogel. Don't know if it is anygood but those guys seems to know what they are doing...

Just wanted to tell you about'em so you could maybe use their drivers in one of your designs...

Peace,
Beathoven

(P.S.: Don't be scared by their slogan "La passion du haut-parleur" it's in french and it means "The Loudspeaker Passion" :D)

Beathoven,

Audax created a lot of hype when they introduced this Aerogel line, but their performance hasn't lived up to their promise. In fact they have some nasty upper midrange breakup which is difficult to tame. And their bass properties are not so hot either, hence the reason why you see them being sold all over the place at quite a discount.

I always have my eyes and ears open for new developments, but so far I haven't found much useful from Audax.

My designs aren't really appropriate for the DIY'er. They require specialized test equipment and experience to build and set them up properly. On top of this there are some design details which I'm not ready to share at this point.

3-way kits are not very common these days. They've lost favor to 2-way systems (for good reason) and usually leave it up to you to integrate separately amplified subs. Madisound http://www.madisound.com/ offers the Eton 11.2 3-way kit, though I personally wouldn't recommend it.
