Greetings,

I have been hearing from almost everyone that listens/records with us at LBC Studios that the rate is INCREDIBLY cheap, almost too cheap. I am going to give you some pictures, samples, info, etc and let you decide what my rate should be. I'm not going to tell you what is is at now. We have been thinking alot about changing the rate, going by hour, etc. We have been recording for about 2 years and have come so far after after about 50 bands.
You can find one of our better samples at www.myspace.com/mastersoftheuniverse . the song entitled "Away from Here" was done here, NOT the other one(s). Also here are some links to pictures of the studio

You can also check out our website at www.LBCstudios.com for gear listings, other samples, a few more pictures, etc.

thanks in advance

If it was me, I would be rather ashamed of the snare sound (in all three samples you posted, 2 on your site and that one link). The distorted guitar sound on the first sample sounds horrible to me. It's a little better on the samples from your website, but I still wouldn't be proud of it. The drums always sound awefully dry, and so do the vocals. Everything sounds awefully dry, actually.

Sorry to be so negative, but I did "tell you" ;)

Hmm ... well, I'm not terribly impressed with the quality either. After hearing it, I looked on your site and saw that you had "upcoming sessions" booked. I was thinking that you're lucky to have bookings at all with that quality. But then I looked at your rates. That's why you're getting bookings. Yes that rate is way too low. I think you should change to an hourly rate. I would suggest $10 an hour. That's a VERY low rate as well, but I think you would still come out much better than what you are now, but you wouldn't be ripping anyone off with the quality they're getting either.

That's my two cents.

you really think so? i always thought a dry track meant...unmessed with. we usually have reverbs on everything. snare, vox, especially. We charge 25 a song now, and i think 10 an hour would end up being more expensive then that.
