Platypi track pretty warm (no tubes needed), but I've never been able to get them to sit well during mix. . .reverb, delay, chorus. . .nuthin'.

Must be the bill, ducks and echoes and all that.

Oh well.

Yeah, like a duck, reverb doesn't work on a platypus.

I've been told that single spring reverb will work on the platypus.

That is correct. They tend to get their peckers caught in a dual spring reverb, and the ensuing agonized scream is being used by the US Army as a weapon in Iraq.

Sonic devices that can inflict pain--or even permanent deafness--are being deployed.

SOUTH POMFRET, Vt. - Marines arriving in Iraq this month as part of a massive troop rotation will bring with them a high-tech weapon never before used in combat - or in peacekeeping. The device is a powerful megaphone the size of a satellite dish that can deliver recorded warnings in Arabic and, on command, emit a piercing tone so excruciating to humans, its boosters say, that it causes crowds to disperse, clears buildings and repels intruders. "[For] most people, even if they plug their ears, [the device] will produce the equivalent of an instant migraine," says Woody Norris, chairman of American Technology Corp., the San Diego firm that produces the weapon. "It will knock [some people] on their knees."

(Do marsupials even have peckers?)

I called FMR and they said that only Wallabys and Jackyls have peckers. I told them they were wrong about Jackyls being marcupials and they said they would have to ask God and they would call me in 4-6 weeks.

Avalon said that marcupials have "zippers" not "peckers". I tend to belive that the zippers are highly overrated and expensive and they can rust shut on them--just like that.

Kangaroo buggary is a great idea....but not in my backyard.

"Marsupials are mammals in which the female typically has a pouch in which it rears its young through early infancy. They differ from placental mammals (Placentalia) in their reproductive traits. The female has two vaginas, each of which leads to a different compartment in the uterus. Males usually have a two-pronged penis which corresponds to the females' two vaginas."

I guess having a forked tongue in the marsupial world wouldn't carry the same stigma that it does in the human world.

Nice pictures. The horn should also shoot out Tweenkie lard.

Say what?

Jeeze guys - isn't this supposed to be THE microphone forum? I'm surprised that this thread hasn't been moved to the Cave. I can remember when we spent time here discussing mics...
