Hi all
I have a very faithfull Yamaha KX88 which I've used as a Mother keyboard in my studio for 15 years. About 2 years ago it started showing battery low sign on switch on so I changed the battery. This lasted for about 6 months and then the sign came on again so I changed the battery again. The sign still came up after the 2nd battery change and now the KX88 does not power up lights come on they flicker for a moment and then it goes off.
Can anyone help with this fault or does anyone have suggestions?

Did you use exactly the same type of battery? Also, did you heat sink it whilst soldering?
Perhaps you could fit a plastic battery holder for convenience?

I don't know the unit well but I imagine low (or missing) battery should prevent it from powering on.
It kinda sounds like there could be another problem.

I understand holding A+B whilst powering on is meant to do some kind of memory reset. Is that worth a try?
