Ya' see, now, This is what a bass cab should look like!

Not mine and I wouldn't buy one (because of weight) and I suspect it may actually be a PA cab, but That is what I expect a good bass cab to look like. I just sayin'...
 
So, you should find a vintage Sunn cab- THAT is what a bass cab should REALLY look like (and when you see one, I'll bet you will agree.)
 
There a guy in town selling a Sunn cab for $225. I'm currently buying another bass head or I'd be all over it. It would look nice in the 'Study'.

But, if I remember correctly, that Jbl would be a lot deeper and heavier than the Sunn. That's not the big Sunn cab that matches up with that JBL.
 
I sold a Sunn cab a while back, it was tallish, like those, and had the port in the middle, similar to the JBL at the top of this thread.
 
That JBL is nice, but where's the other half? :D

Man, I can almost feel those Acoustics from here!

The only thing wrong with that backline is it's missing a couple of Ampeg 8x10's for flavor.
 
I think that JBL cab is for PA's. It looks like its not meant to be upright either.
 
Tha's what I thought, but I know guys who used them around here for bass. An they do kick ass.

Geez!!!! I remember those!! Fender came out with a fake version and a bass player I knew bought one. Heavy as h#@!!!
 
yeah man, this thing HAS to weigh around 200 or more...it really sucks bringing it up stairs..theres two handles on the left side, so you always have to tip it in order to have someone help you with it up and down stairs lol it's such a hassle to get out to the places we play...but the volume and the tone is unmatchable! i'm finding that 4x10's are too little for me now haha

Now that's weird. The ones we had an internal baffle full length 'V' across the width, covering about 50% of the 15"s on the back (open side of the 'v) terminating into about 4" full width port across the front.

..Somebody come up with a pic of Phil's 4-18's and a pair of Meyer cabs for the top end.. :)

2x15 my favorite bass rig, I use an older PV cab loaded with Black Shadow (MESA/EV) 15" for ROCK gigs.
I also have an old Acoustic 4x15 cab loaded with JBL speakers but it does not see much action.
