Hello! Today i received my xenyx 1202 with 2 AT ATR35s lav mics..

When i plug the microphones on the xenyx i get a lot of noise..
Do you know why? The batterys is new..

Please answer.. thx!

Where are you plugging them in?

I did a web serch and this mic is supplied with 3.5mm plugs. The mic will have to be plugged into the xenyx 1202 XLR sockets. If you are plugging them into the xenyx's 6.5mm Jack Plugs using 3.5 to 6.5 adaptors this will not work as the 6.5 jacks are for line level inputs not microphones.

Cheers

Alan.

I put the microphone on the 6.5mm input under the XLR imput and when i get the Trim (gain?) high i have a lot of noise..

How to put the microphone into an XLR input?

Patience EleosFever, we don't all live in the same timezone, I was asleep.

You need to make up a short cable with a female 6.5 jack one end and a male XLR the other. You could cut the original plug off the mic cable and solder a male xlr onto it.

Have you an electronics shop or a tech in your area they can sort this out for you very easily.

Cheers

Alan.

Or get a 6.5 to XLR adaptor.

The mike needs to go into the XLR input. The 6.5 socket is a line input. Your mike does not deliver enough signal to work this input.

Or get a 6.5 to XLR adaptor.

I thought of this first,, but in my catalouges I could only find a 6.5 male to XLR female adaptor. But come to think of it I think I have a 6.5 female to male XLR in my kit, so there is such a thing.

It sounds like EleosFever does not understand Mic and line input usage, that is why he needs to talk to someone in his area, music shop or tech guy to get him up and running.

Cheers

I didn't understand how to make the cable.. Can you explain me better?

I haven't music shops in my city..

Hi, sorry about the late reply but it was a holiday long weekend here.

For each mic you need:

1 off male 3 pin XLR
1 off Female 6.5mm in line Jack socket.
About 300 mm Microphone cable.

And be able to solder.

XLR end: solder pin 2 positive (Red), Pin 3 negative (black), Pin 1 Shield.

Jack Socket end: solder Red to tip, black and shield to ring.

There is a diagram here at the link below, but it shows a male jack plug, you need a female jack plug.
