I don't think that posting a welcome letter, qualifies as grounds for, "opening our website up for attack."

What's all the commotion about?
HR.com and TS.com have two different styles, as mentioned earlier.
I'll tell you one thing about TS.com, there is a lot of important info over there you grippers are missing out on. Really good stuff by people in the business. But what you're missing ain't none of my concern. Sometimes I'm embarrassted by my spelling and some of you guys, the way you carry on. Picking and ninnying people to death. Why don't you use your excessive engery for something constructive like trying to write a song or helping someone.
This forum is about songwriting, not hitting someones nerve and feeling like you've accomplished something.
Take it to the Cave where people like me won't post stuff like I'm posting now, and tell you excatly what I think instead of being the nice guy that I am.
I rarely come to this forum anymore because of this kind of crap. I like this forum, or use to.

I just wanted to tell Al that he has a fine site.

Listen to the Badgas, everyone. I thougth this forum was about criticising songs, not each others website. They are two completely different things, so don't go comparing them with each other. Now shake hands and make up, will you?

Badgas PLEASE STAY MAN, WE NEED YOU!!!!!!

Tunesmith is a good site....
So is HR...
So are a dozen more I can think of....
You have to try to use them as tools...not crutches or leaning posts...ya know?

It is like what they told us when I joined the Air Force....
It's what YOU make of it....
There is much to be learned, shared and thankful for at all of these sites....ya know?

I think that the simple fact that Tunesmith is for "Commercial" music...specifically geared towards country and the market in Nashville should be enough of "lead in" as to what to expect when you visit.
Also....it is not what I would call a "Pat on the Back" board...ya know? The good critiquers shoot from the hip for the most part so...leave your ego at home.....unless of course you have a Country tune that you feel is commercial and marketable...that is the place to go for a critique...but, be prepared to give a little as well.
On Tunesmith, just as any other site...there are patriarchs...moderators...loyal posters...regulars...celebrities...professionals...and novices.
The craft of songwriting is practiced there...HR is (let's face it) mostly for recording....Each site has it's merits...ya know?

Listen all...I didn't say a bad word about the SITE. In fact, it seems pretty cool to me.

That's all.

Thankyou (some of you) for the support of what we are doing at Tunesmith. And you are RIGHT. HR is about home recording, and seems to do a fine job with it. Tunesmith is about the "commercial songwriting arena", mostly Nashville (but we do some pop, MOR, etc... ) ...and we do a fine job with what WE do.

As for Clark's comment that, "Tunesmith has not given me much to go on other than childlike rants" ...AND, "Al, you seem a bit defensive" ....OF COURSE I'M DEFENSIVE. Look at the things that were said by your snotty HR members...

"what gives you the right to come in here advertising for your s****y site"

"Take your azz back to your own site"

"There are plenty of ametuer folks there."

"You opened this thread. You invited criticism of your site and by extension, yourself."

"just wanted to let everyone know i just finished a song and posted it at tunesmith.biz. i'll let you know how bad i get slammed. oh and Al, check it out, it's dedicated to you."
(The Song that Goldfish Refers To, TRASHES Me Personally)

"just stay at your site"

"there is more in the world of music besides country"

"I'm gonna keep it real wit HR"

These comments that were made by HR members, came CLEAR OUT OF THE BLUE... read the whole thread FROM THE BEGINNING.

Like I said before...

I don't think that posting a welcome letter, qualifies as grounds for, "opening our website up for attack."

I guess from here on in, I will let this controversial thread dissapear from the HR board, and avoid offering our hand in the future.

Sorry ya feel that way Al.
This really ain't a bad bunch of guys. They just ain't been out in the world much, from the looks of things.
But I understand.
There's times ya just wonder who the hell your talking to sometimes and if it's even worth the effort.
I hope you do come back now and then. A lot of us travel the circuit of related sites and I see a lot of guys I know from here over at TS.com.
I really like your site, the lay out, the various songwriting forums, it's a nicely done site. I like going there.

I wouldn't of known about TS.com unless you'd come over here that night and made the first post. Thanks for coming.
I hope you don't let it worry you that people who have some serious questions about song writing and has never heard of TS.com will never know about your site, now that your not coming back. Maybe they will dig up this old thread in a few weeks and follow the link. ;)

This being a Homerecording bbs with a songwriting forum in it makes some of the guys a bit edgy, I reckon, when someone comes around with a site that may disrupt one of their favorite forums. I don't know how most other guys think, just me, so I may be wrong. But it's what it looks like. No one site has it all, there are specialty sites far beyond the capabilities of any one site, and that's why HR.com, NWR, TS.com and others are availible. Tools, as Joro said.

Anyway, do come back, Al. I think your site, and it's must my opinion, and ours are compatible in the business. A lot of guys/gals over there at TS.com do their own recording. We have people in that business here. Kinda like a trade off, ya know.

See ya a TS.com.

WHY HASN'T THIS THREAD BEEN DELETED... MODERATORS??... YOOO HOOO, WAKE UP....

I agree with vox.
This thread needs deleted.
For two reasons, in my opinion.

1. This thread is a stain on everyone here at HR.com. Anyone can come in here and read it. Unlike the Cave. Anyone. It's a reflection on the whole of HR.com, not just vox and the others who so gleefully berated Al, but you, and me. It only takes a few, and those few did a good job beating Al down to leaving. Hope everyone involved is smiling with pride now and feeling bigger than the children they actually are.
I'm sure Dragon and one of the Mods saw this thread. It seems to me if it's not comaptible to HR.com's agenda, then they'd of deleted it long ago.

2. From vox's post, I'm assuming he's embarressed to no end and doesn't wish anyone to see the immaturity of his posts in this thread.
Way to go vox.
Hope you get your childish way.

Ahhhh Mr. Badgas...

Other than my last post about having it deleted......I didn't wirte one FUCKING post to this thread..... What the fuck are you smoking guy?

Anyways, you should stop smoking it.. it's making you look pretty wacked dude..

Think and read before you slam someone..

I think he's mistaking you for Sonic Misfit...
Anyway, this must be really bad if it upsets badgas, that's like Jesus sayin' "Goddammit!" Hope you get the point...

Now can we please close this thread and forget about it? I agree with Badgas this thread is not representative for all homereccers. We really ain't bad people, now are we? Close this thread and if you want to discuss it further take it to the cave, or even better, the 2ND ANNUAL HOMERECORDING JAMFEST. I'm sure MrQQ can act as a referee between you guys...

Shit, gotta go, Kylie Minogue is on TV!
