I'm currently wiring my blastroom (soundproof room) through the wall and into my control room with my mixers and equipment. I've got the equipment to do it and now need some help. I need to run some speaker cable through the wall and solder that to a 1/4" mono wallplate. The wire is double jacketed and I need to know where to solder the connections. I have the same problem with my instrument wire. It is a single jacket but i still need to know where to solder it to the plate. (I'm doing 2 stereo and 2 instrument to the same plate).
I think I would just solder to the 2 smaller prongs (I really don't know the names), not the prong with the crimp in it.

I've attached pictures of my wires and plate. The coppery wire is the stereo and the black is the instrument wire. Please tell me where to solder each wire. =D

ummm...yes. It's just the name we use here. I'm trying to start my company and we named it Blastroom productions. The Blastroom is just what my dad decided to call it when we were building it....

Do NOT use 1/4" jacks in a wall panel. They will compromise the transmission loss in the wall partitions that you worked so hard to get. Use XLR ONLY. Even for HiZ instrument lines. You can use them for MIC lines, Line level lines, and headphone lines. Even for various computer or miscellaneous lines. XLR;s come in many configurations.

Well...too late. You can see I already got the 1/4" panels and. But I need to send the PA through the wall and I need 1/4" for some guitar from the control room to an amp in the tracking room.
