Will an Alesis I/O card work for this?

Hi again,

Mr. Newbie here.

Since my last post I have delved into the realm of PC recording and found a cool product that might offer the best of both worlds (tape and PC storage). It is the Behringer ADA8000, see here:
http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--BEHADA8000

It is digital interface with 8 XLR inputs, 8 high quality mic preamps and uses ADAT as the data transfer type. It requires an ADAT card to connect it to a PC for data storage and editing.

My question is this: Will an Alesis I/O card such as the Alesis ADAT Edit PCI card work as a PC interface for the Behringer ADA8000? What other affordable (cheap) PC card options are there? Thanks!

FYI- PCI ADAT card only runs on Win 95/98/ME. It will not work on Win 2K/XP. I believe RME Audio makes some good PC interfaces that use ADAT optical. Emu as well. If you really like the looks of the Alesis card, and are running an old OS, let me know. I'll sell you my ADAT/ Edit card for pretty cheap.
