will all Rackears/shelfs fit my DBX163x's ?

ok, i had a nice stereopair of dbx 163x's , they were attached with some sort of plastic.....thing.... plastic sucks, it broke off a while ago when i took the compressors out of my rack...
now i got another 163x and a half-space rack unit,
so i'd like to buy me two rack shelfs,
but how do you attach the compressors to this shelf? my rack isn't horizontal, so i can't just put the comps on the shelf, they'll fall off,
so are there this specially designed for DBX...or other brands.?

some shelves will come pre drilled with holes and slots, allowing you to remove some screws from the unit, and fansten them to the shelf. you could also measure and drill your own holes. I have had success using a product called "All round", which is a metal strapping used for securing plumbing and ductwork. i use small metal screws to fasten the strap to the back of the shelf, and i use whatever screws are on the back of the unit to secure it at that point.
alternately, you could use velcro with adhesive backing to secure your units. I haven't tried double sided tape, but i suppose this would probably work as well.
 
i thought about using ductape and stuff, hehe, but the units constantly move from studiorack to PA flightcases, so its gotto be easy to unscrew the units from the rack...and put them in flightcases, especially when i use them live i don't want them to 'move around' in the flightcase when i'm driving over to the gig with my car...

oh, just thought about something, isn't there a rack tray or something especially for dbx 163x's ? so you can put one compressor in one rackspace,
its got some drawings on the front...i've seen it on ebay , gonna see if i can find it again
 
have you tried contacting DBX for the proper ears?
 
I contacted DBX a while back in regards to this same issue as I have two of the DBX 163x's as well. They no longer have any parts for these, and they sold all of their old stock to another company. This other company, which I forget the name of, no longer had any of these parts either. :(

I'm going to have to do something like this as well. I was thinking of using sticky backed velcro on mine to secure them to a rack shelve, but they would still be fairly easy to remove.

two of my 163x's got rackears,
i even got that plastic thing to attach them together, but since two plastic "things" broke off its kinda useless now,
WHY PLASTIC?.????? these units are maybe 20 years old and work superfine, built as a tank, but why PLASTIC shit to connect two units?

anyway, now i'm hunting for another 163x with that "faceplate" or how you call that.... and i hope if i win it i'll be able to screw my other next to it...
but that doesn't really solve thep roblem, then i'll have four of those units and still two that don't fit in my rack...
