...haven't i used the recorderman method for overheads before today?

what a difference.

You never asked :D
Great sound huh. You kinda capture the drums as if your on the throne.
Become one with the drums.

my OH's have always SUCKED! i was using them more as cymbal mic mics than anything else, and using the close mics as the prominent tracks. the two OH's i recorded last night sounded GREAT and i just need to duck in the kick and snare under them to beef it up. no hi hat mic, no tom mics, nothing.

phtttp indeed!

miking drums would imply you wanted a recording of them.

I can't play. I am not even going to lie. But seriously. i was going to post a thread on my new found affection fo eZdrummer.

But i am not going to.

All i can say is that compared to the fruity loops set up i had prior to Ezdrummer my inspiration and creativity has increased by a bazillion times

But clearly you all give 0 fucks about me and my canned drums

I will excuse myself from this thread,

Good Morrow Chaps.

Right, we don't care.

Having said that, I'm all for using fake drums when necessary. Not everyone can play or record drums. And everyone knows that drum-less music sucks the ass. I think you'll find though that most of us that can play and record drums take great pleasure and pride in it.

I won't ever agrue that. i have heard your guys shit and it is far better then some of the 'professionals' stuff i have heard in my circle of friends. No contest.

And the few times i did mic a kit and record it, they weren't the best but i was still stoked on how they turned out. I get the pride thing.

And you should.
Simply getting drums tuned well is an art unto itself and getting them to sound good on recordings has GOT to be the single hardest thing to do in recording.
