Why must my mono songs become converted to "stereo" on cd

This thread is a joke but I auditioned fer a guy in Toronto that was as bad back in the '90's. He was REALLY serious....and creepy.

Yeah, I've met dudes like this, too. Completely on their own cloud, which is cool if you have talent. Pathetic if you don't.

Almost makes you feel sorry for them.

Almost.

Well, not really. First off, we'll assume the speakers are correctly wired, and not out of phase, which will certainly color the sound.

But if you replace a single mono speaker with dual mono speakers, the multiple source points overlap at different factors of wavelength, causing constructive and destructive interference. Human hearing covers wavelengths from about 2cm to well over 15m. Speakers three feet across will exhibit different tonal characteristics from earbuds about 18cm apart, and both will be different from speakers that are any other distance apart.

But really, once you're getting into that critical a difference, it's going to be pointless to bother. Different listeners will be listening through different speakers or earbuds altogether.

My Shure consumer ear buds will sound very different from my Sennheiser reference headphones.

Dude, what was the purpose of this post?

Besides the fact that it's almost all COMPLETE BULLSHIT.

Sounds like he's talking about broadband optical spectral analysis, which in the audio world, we refer to as comb filtering and phase issues....

I'm sorry..... I hate being this geeky.... Kill me now.....

Bottom line is...Mono is mono. The rest was a bunch of bullshit.

The op wasnt talking about two speakers, he was talking about putting stuff on CD.

Its not like he'd have control over what people listened on as far as speakers go
The points about comb filtering and multiple source issues is completely irrelevant to the OP

OK, you know what???

Can you just shut the fuck up already. You're getting really annoying. If you're so sure you're going to be that huge, then shut up and laugh at us when it happens. As it is now, you've stopped being amusing and you're making a complete buffoon of yourself. You're probably older than most of the people in this thread telling you how much you suck, so don't use the age card, it doesn't work here.

If it's supposed to be all about "soul", why are you so obsessed with having your "sweet fruit"....You're a pretensious hypocrite on top of being completely talentless.

I'd never say this to anyone unless their pomposity made them deserve it. You truly fucking suck.

Fuck off. You're pathetic.

i have a question guys, and this has bothering me a lot. when i sing a certain way, i get this weird feeling always in my left ear, of like wind blowing through my ear, like its all clogged up or something, but from the inside. any ideas?

Too easy...just too easy...

im one album away from changing the world!

Every person on the planet is "one album away from changing the world," but no one's done it yet although a handful may have made an impact.

But here's a question you might answer: how is your music going to change the world if you purposely make it so hideous that very few people will even listen to it all the way through one time?

It seems to me that you're creating music with a built-in excuse for failure. I think you know how bad it is but you'd rather make bad music that you know is bad than attempt to make good music that others might say is bad. The former you can laugh off as a gag but the latter might be emotionally devastating, especially to one as self-obsessed as you. And don't tell me you don't care what others think; you wouldn't be posting here if that were true. So I think that's it in a nutshell: you're afraid to attempt making good music and what you're doing isn't clever, insightful, or even original as there are way more bad musicians than good; in fact, it's probably cowardly more than anything.

So I'll ask again, how is your music going to change the world if you purposely make it so hideous that very few people will even listen to it all the way through one time?
