Are you for real???? You need a public relations director! Take an add out...

Seriously.....Stir sounds like a track from Pink Floyd's 'Momentary Lapse of Reason'.....Cool shit.

Oh my gosh, I just downloaded your Shadow song and realized I just listened to it the other day. Sorry. Its a cool song, but if you remember I told you that the clean guitar was clipping.

has anyone given "awakened" a listen? thats the newest song.

im working on the "clipped" clean guitar on "in the shadows".

Spacedye,

Ill listen to Awakened tonight, hey can you give my song "Just a Dream" an ear if you get a chance? Im really looking for some serious input on it. Thanks. www.mp3.com/sondriven

hey sondriven....
i think the production is incredible on "just a dream". my only opinion is the vocals are just a hair too loud. its a damn good song to. only thing is, im not the biggest fan of fast "techno" sounding stuff.
i liked "prodigal" alot. i think i prefer your slower stuff. but thats just me. like i said, im not a huge fan of the fast stuff anymore. but it all has a great sound!!! what the hell is your setup there? what are you using to get this sound????
i mean like the music is right there, kicking you in the face!! i love it. how do you get it like that?

Thanks for listening. I work my hardest at getting all my sounds as fat as I can by doing a bunch of layering. I am definitely going for the kick you in the head tones! Glad to see it coming through. Sometimes I use 3 different kicks, and almost always I use 2 different snares. I try to personalize all my sounds as much as possible. If Im using samples that other people created or recorded, I dont want them sounding like how I recieved them.
I use Fruity Loops software for my drums and when I record them out to my DPS16 I always record to four tracks panned hard left and right. Then the layering with the instruments begins. Im glad you think it sounds good. Im getting ready to send my demo out.
How is my voice overall anyway? I am very self-conscience about it and am finally starting to open up a little.
Awakened is almost done downloading. Wish I had a cable connection!

Thanks again,
John

Okay listening to the track now. I like the piano. Not crazy about the kick though, lacks a little punch and sounds like it was from a Alesis SR-16 Drum machine.

The pads or strings are cool at about 1:40. The panning on the hi hats work nice. Bass is tight. I am wanting to hear some heavier guitars but thats just my choice.

Oh, very cool at 3:15 when the quick guitar riff kicks in, and I dig the Flange or effect on the main guitar. Nice ending. Good stuff Spacedye. Do you have vocals for any of your songs?

The mix sounds great. So whats your setup?

I try and I try and I try... and I asked the same question, then the thread went away...My conclusion is that I suck musically,

I hope you have better luck :0) and talent;0)
