that when spin says we have to start posting beats in another forum, this one starts to grow thin
i mean come on people; there are only a few engaging in active threads and voicing their opinions about stuff. hip-hop is just not about making a track then posting it online all the time.
you have to learn about a culture before you can become a part of it. there is so much that encompasses hip-hop its ridiculous, and this forum could be a way to start learning about cats you have never heard before, about break dancing, graf. writing, (trapper keeper rhymes :P), beat boxing, and "hip-hop"

but i don’t know, seems like the only cats interested in this stuff are the chosen few that post about it...

What's on your mind?

I'm always open for a good discussion but not when it's some type of hate. I mean granted there are alot of things I don't like about current: artists, songs, etc but i'm not gonna waste my time ranting about it when i could be making beats gaining more knowledge about recording..But i have something that has been pissing me off lately an i would like to talk about it .

Is it just me or do some of ya'll feel like you are the only one's who take this serious day in an day out? The reason i brought this up is I get so sick an tired of hearin cat's say "man i'm starving kid" so then when I hear these cry's for help I wanna do whatever i can to help them out. But it always end's up with cat's who are on that bullshit, never stay with their word. "yo kev i'll be there at 7 on wens" same ol same ol shit man... I mean i've passed up days if chillin with my girl trips to different places all because i live this shit an I can't get enough of it. I have however met a few who feel the same way as me an they keep me going. not to say i wouldn't be doing it anyways but sometimes u need that boost to kick your ass back into gear. The bottom line is Peoples word's are meaningless these days. I can count the number of time's on my two hands that I met someone an when they said they would be somewhere to do something the did it.

Just my little Rant ya'll can chime in if ya like

Peace,

Kevlar

Yo Kev,

I feel you about dealing with non-serious individuals. When it comes to something you love to do like like rhyming or making beats you should not get involved with people who do not show the same level of seriousness.

That's why some people, such as myself, have taken to being anti-social. I rarely say anything in this room because I honestly think that most of the subject matter is really dead. Most of the time people end up getting into foolish arguments that evidently lead to nothing (yup, internet thugz frontin'). The rest of the time people are so inspired by their own opinions that they are on a mission to attack anyone whose ideas differ. Its like people forgot that a message board was for sharing ideas and learning new things. ("Oh, I thought it was my own personal pitbull podium!!!")

Anyways, I give it up to the limited amount of you who come in here and give your honest opinions trying to elevate the subject matter. I cant even lie, I aint one of those chosen few that Liquid Bronze was talking about but I respect ya'll for trying.

I'm a tell you what! I feel like the slave that has just had his family broke up and sent to two different plantations. Whenever I look around all I see is memories of what the forum was to me when all"hip-hop" activity was performed here. Yea there were a million listen to my post threads but inside each one was a wealth of knowledge If i count the things I learned it would be ridiculous. For me the bottom line is who would i be more open to learn from some one who says he is a skilled craftsman or someone who shows he is a skilled craftsman. I think splitting things up in this forum when they were picking up pulled out some of the momentum. I would have never learned how to lay them drums tighter Had I not heard somebody elses beat and was like thats the sound I am trying to get and then bugging the hell out of him on aim. Granted there is more to HH than listen to my beat, but here a lot of that "more" was in beat threads. If you want serious topics yea I can start and participate in a million of them but I will always feel like this is a block with some abandoned house on it. now that I have spoke my 2 cents its time to pass the soap box. :(

IMHO that sums pretty much everything up.
