Hey guys,

I'm back here to ask for your feedback on 2 different mixes for the same song. They were mixed by two different people.
Both versions are mastered and completed.

Which version should we release? And if you have the time, why?
Please also consider the "character" of the mix, if you know what I mean.

Your thoughts would really be appreciated!

Mix A

Mix B

Thanks!

Tough call,

I like the music on mix A but the lead vocal on mix B sounds better. The lead vocal on mix A is a bit harsh compared to mix B.

I guess if I have to choose I'd pick mix A. It sounds bigger than mix B because its a bit louder and for some reason the guitars sound better on mix A.

Nice music.

I much prefer mix A, it's better in the midrange and a bit tighter in the bass with the kick/bass balance, I also prefer the more forward and agressive vocals on mix A, something about B doesn't feel right, I think it's a balance thing.

The guitars sound great on A, but I don't like that vocal at all. Overcompressed, distorted and sounds small, like it's being put through some sort of radio filter. B is way better IMO, a lot more natural. Trying to decide if the vocal needs to be pulled down just a little bit. Whole mix maybe needs to be slammed a little bit more to bring it into that commercial loudness.. but I really like it how it is. Cool song!

B is way better, the bass content is clearer, the vocals shine through better. I just like the vibe of it better :)

actually listening on monitors I now prefer B, but think the bass needs to be tighter/cleaned up

Hi.

I must agree. I like the voice on mix B, and the music on mix A.

Yeah, the voice is much better on B, and everything is overall clearer. The distorted guitars seem a bit louder on A though which helps make the mix seem a bit more loud and intense on the chorus.

I prefer Mix B but I think it could be tamed in places. Mix A seemed a bit muddy to me.
