Which mix is better?

We got our EP mixed and mastered by someone else, but 1 of the songs I dislike. Had a go at mixing it myself.

First mix is mine


2nd is what we got someone else to do


Just need an opinion from a fresh pair of ears as to which one sounds better, and any improvements.
 
The second one definitely sounds a little more bass heavy, but I think I prefer it. It's preference really.
 
Yeah, your mix was decent, but the other one had more bottom end, and it needs it. Also I thought the vocal on the second one was clearer; the vocal was a bit muddy in your mix.

The playing and overall sound are cool though--something to be proud of. Congratulations!
 
I agree with these guys. The bass is heavier in the 2nd mix, but I like it as well. The vocals are definitely quieter in the 1st mix and I think they sound clearer in the 2nd mix.

And as BigRed said, it's a very good song. Congrats on the EP, you have a great sound!

I didn't notice when the bass gtr came in for the first mix but it has a lot more presence in the second mix. I think it sounds better that way.
 
2nd mix has more clarity and less clutter, not by much but I'd say the 2nd mix sounds better.
