Hi Experts,
I am planning to buy a sound card for Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. Computer Configuration is : Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20 GHz 2.19 GHz , 0.99 GB RAM. I am a beginner and this is my first sound card buy. My purpose is to record instrument sounds (VST as well as from Yamaha PSI425 keyboard using MIDI-USB) using an old version Logic (5.5, i am learning this software too) and if possible, record voices also... I explored and found M-Audio 2496 and M-Audio Delta 44. Can you please tell me what is the difference between these two sound cards and for a beginner which one is wise-buy? Waiting for your reply... Thanks in Advance

I have the 2496 on my XP Pro SP3 box. You can't really go wrong with the M-Audio cards. The 2496 has two ins and outs, the Delta 44 has four. If you want to record more than 4 channels simultaneously, you may prefer an outboard USB interface over a card.
