All great suggestions. I'm going to go play that godin with the P90's in it again. If I like it the 2nd time as much as the first, it might have to be my guitar. Might as well form my own sound rather than copy what I've heard. I also have a lead on a deal for a used godin LG P90 in like new condition for $325. Maybe that's the Lord telling me to buy one.
Speaking of the edge - I've got their Elevation Tour Live in Boston DVD, and he plays just about every style of guitar you can think of. Every song he's got a different guitar in his hands. Two things I noticed: He played a tele for "Sunday, Bloody Sunday", and, though I think the song is awesome, I thought it was his worst guitar tone of the night, just my opinion. I think his best tones came from a white Custom Les Paul, his Gibson Explorer, and his strat on "where the have no name". I don't remember him playing anything with P90's, but he very well could have - and I did notice a few hollow bodies. A lot of his tone is accredited to his wall of AC30's behind him and a sea of effects. It's just a really cool DVD especially to listen to some cool guitar stuff - not to mention an awesome show.
