I just got a HD24 and wanted to know what would be a good software to edit with I will be purchacing the Fireport since my PC does have a firewire card. I was looking for something that you could mix all 24 trax down to stereo then transfer back into the HD24 any suggest are opinons would be appreciatted.

Really, damn near any of software multitrackers will do the job nicely. I happen to use Cakewalk9 to edit and couldn't be happier, but I don't mix in the box, only edit. If you plan to do your two buss summing in the box, I feel that's where the differences between platforms will become more appearant.

Cool thanks for the info. just can decide which one yet Sonar,Cooledit,Cakewalk, and ect. the demo version sucks because it won't let you import&export so I went to the local Music store but SOL on that because you have to buy with no returns. And they don't have any software installed in any of their PC's I'm leaning towards Cooledit seems to have more options for mastering to. :o

I use Sound Forge to edit the tracks individually and mix outside of my PC, but if I wanted to have software to mix on my PC, I would go with SONAR or Vegas.
