hi guys, in need of advice on audio interface stuff. i've done recording on 4-8 tracks but not to sure about how to get the most out of recording with my pc (xp). basically i want to be able to record up to a whole band so want to start with 8 ins/outs and use my pc as a multitrack and use mainly outboard gear. i have just read a right up on the 'ST audio DSP3000 M-port' and at £689 it seems good for the features. however, i've also spotted the behringer 'ultragain pro ADA8000' (ad/da converter)
and was wondering if this will do the same tasks? it has 8ins balanced xlr/trs 8 balanced xlr outs with mic pre's, +48 on each but no inserts for outboard. however its like £500 cheaper. i don't think it comes with a PCI card like the DSP3000, so how would i connect each channel? and could the behringer provide low latency? aagghh someone help me. if the behringer could save me money i would rather use the left over cash on beer? women? oh no decent mics.
