After thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollers spent.
After losing almost everything in life except my music.
Everything i hear from others is so weak i vomit.

Ive put blood into my songs and i dont feel safe posting them on the net or sending cds to people ive never met.

Where do i turn? I dont have a bestfriend in the industry that can do magic for me. Infact i dont know anyone connected with music. Everyone seems to be full of sh*t when it comes time for business.

Does anyone have advice for a producer in my position?
How can i see some return?

1: If no one else thinks your music is any good, then you need to revaluate your perspective. You might find out you were right all along, and you were talking to the wrong people, or you might find out your music sucks. (also, don't trust your friends opinions of you, they might think you're great because they don't know any better and don't want to hurt your feelings. Seek the opinions of those YOU think are good)

2: Posting your songs on the internet is safe as long as they are properly copywritten. Seek advice from legal council (Ez_willis or his attorney)

3: If you want to attempt to sell your music directly to the buying public, sign up with Tunecore or similar. Be prepared to see your Tunecore bank account = $0.00 USD on a monthly basis.

4: Make music because you love it, and if you get paid, awesome.

It really comes down to how good you are, and how good everyone else thinks you are.

tough eh?

oh one other thing, why in the world don't you feel safe sending CD's through the mail to someone you've never met. You're charging them right? If your in the biz of selling your music, as long as you collect the money before the cd gets sent out, what's the problem. They could use it for a damned drink coaster if they want, no?

Well today you've got to be accessible, so you might try to get over your stolen song phobia and start at least putting up your tunes on a site that does streaming. All of them do it nowadays. Secondly, there has to be a willingness to promote it yourself or better yet, pay someone to. You should spend at least half of what you spent recording it (or buying gear) to promote it, unless labels are beating down your door, which obviously isn't the case. So that means press, merchandise, and a lot of presskits. A lot. Devote a few hours a day to it or pay someone to.

I want people to send me their(my) money because I'm an honest guy, and I'm telling them my shit rockkkkkkks!

Send me my money, and I'll send you your disc!

(quiet you! I've got a whole "I hate Phil Collins" theme going on here. Gotta see it through....although it is time to find a NEW faggooty picture of that tosser. It's aboot bad music, it's aboot a lack o' dignity)

Oh, okay. I get it now.

Sorry ...... little drunk when i post that...and this......
thanks for your advice.

Ok.. so my work has been sr formed into the gov.. but still.... how easy is it to rip off a song:confused: ITS EASY. Has anyone out there had any $real$ success composing songs/beats/scores? If so..................................... How did you get in the game?

:D

Honestly, if you believe everything you hear from others is "weak" and you're afraid to put your songs on the internet, then automatically you're a huge turn off.

I actually like phil collins... esp his unreleased demo work. He's a talented guy who's just done a few lame ass tunes that made it big. It's so trendy to hate phil collins these days, most likely because of south park? (great show, but not everything said is for much more than just comedic value)

They even shove phil collins down your throat in audio school now... I remember in my first class, we sat there and mixed down phil collins hours upon end...

do they? wow strange... He does a halfway decent job mixing his own stuff but I wouldn't think of PC to teach the craft of mixing.
