i have some acoustic panels already...that i got from a friend that does home theater.

But, i need to know what is good to use for reflective tiles...I am making a small but very "live" room. I'd like to get my reverb time to maybe even 4 seconds or so...something very alive for acosutic instruments.

as for the rest of the place...I will need that nice looking foam stuff...for vocal booth...control room and such. Colors are important to me...so, if you know of a place that has maybe...navy..black..purple...fuscia...etc. that'd be cool

thanks!

Dude, fuchsia?

That might not work with your Barbara Streisand posters...

If I were you, I'd try to do something with panels... Maybe hang 'em to the wall or something, but make sure that you can also remove them, so that by turning around the panels, you can choose your reverb time...

I read it in a book about the studios of our national tv. Which are slightly bigger, they house complete orchestras, and they can vary their reverb time from 1s to about 7 or something. Don't remember the numbers exactly... But you get the idea.

nah I already checked those...they will work. ;)

seriosuly...like a deep color..almost leaning towards red. just something different..i don't want every room to be black.

foam panels?

Try Sonex on the net. I don't have a link, but I know they used to sell pro foam panels in a variety of colors. Maybe auralux offers colors also. There is a link in one of the responses to thier homepage. (Auralux) I don't remember which one, but its in this forum. Best non-technica lstudio building general info I've seen in one place.

oops...

boy, whad a dunce, I'm sorry I didn't read your post correctly, you want reflective and absorbative panels..correct. That sounds like reversable structures.... see john sayers
response about gobos.. with pics. I think that will help if I understand what your looking for. unless you are going to suspend them. Same thing, just got to have a pivot mount. I'v just had some mdf ribs machined on CNC to build curved gobos that are going to be suspended as a track mounted "corner killer" and 4 curved mobile
gobos for drums, amps and anything low. The upper ones have a different radius then the mobile ones and have a different purpose(Haas reflectors. . I'll post pictures when I finish them. One side(convex)will be fiberglass/fabric-the other side brushed pewter chemetal laminate.
