Where do all of my picks go?!

When I lose picks, I usually find them in my mouth about 30 sec. later.

I once went to a clapton show. I got a matched set of one red and one black pics that said Clapton Tour 2008 (or something) on them.
I lost one of them some where in Montana, a few days later, I found it lying in the street in Seattle. The year had changed to 2006 though. Weird!

actually the easiest way to get it out of an acoustic is to hold it soundhole up and get the pick on the bottom of the git directly below the soundhole and then flip the git over in an arc so the centripital force holds the pick against the bottom and when you stop it's now directly above the soundhole which now faces down and it falls right out.

What I do is get the pick to the upper left edge (If it was 1st person perspective) Then I slide it over to the sound hole and tilt it. Comes out easily. It's funny how many people spend five minutes shaking their guitars like it owes them money :laughings:

Hey

I have no idea where picks go, but no matter where it is, I bet there are lots of socks there too.

I lost a pick in my solid body strat once. Man that was a bad day!

I used to keep a spare pick tucked under the front edge of the screwed on pickguard on my Ibanez. I must have done something to bump the pick as it wound up tucked up tight way up under the pickguard. I didn't know about it until I removed the pickguard one day when I was doing some mods.

My favorite pick is the one you lost 10 years ago and I found it.
I was stoned as well.:o

I use those same ones but the 60's. My picks usually end up in that little 'coin' pocket about the normal pocket. I went to a Maiden show and Dave Murray threw his pick and everyone dived for it but I managed to snag it, (getting a little crushed in the process , but that's ok :) ) but the pick was lost within a week. I was pissed cause it said his name, and the current tour and year on it also, oh well.

I've lost pics over the years, never to be seen again..but in the past year, at an unusual rate. I keep my pics in empty glass jars that once contained canned fruit.

One of my grandsons, who is almost 3 now, plays around on one of my acoustics a lot..so I always check that out and sure enough, guitar pics jingling around inside.

But..that didn't account for all the lost pics..so one day, my 5yr old grandson(who keeps an eagle eye on his own pics)..alerts me to the fact, guitar pics are inside the 3yr old's snare drum!

Inside, were many pics of all colors, shapes and brands...Upon investigating, I found he had been slipping them inside through a tiny hole on the bottom head...but..

..that still did not account for so many pics missing..well..a few days ago, I caught the little guy in the act..he was sliding pics inbetween the piano keys on my keyboard...no telling what I will find, it I took it apart.:D

Three professions that are unlikely to suffer - funeral directors, driving instructors and guitar pick makers !

Damn kids :p

I bought a pack of Dunlops for $5. There was maybe 8 picks in there. I used to pay twenty-five cents per.

RRRRREEEESSSSSSUUUURRRREEEECCCCCTTTTTIIIOOOONNNN!!!!!

I just found some of my old picks. Where? Buried in my back yard. Sweet.

I thought i would be wise and stash a few in my wallet, then i lost my wallet.

There are a few people that keep coming around that i wish wouldn't. Maybe i will plant some picks on them and never see them again.

I saw the pic fairy having lunch one day with the tooth fairy so I beat the shit out of both of them and got all my old pics back. Also got all my old teeth and a shitload of quarters.

I have those days where I'm playing and lose grip on the pick at just the right time for it to fly off somewhere and seem like it just disappeared out of my fingers. I found one of those the bottom of a cup of tea. I don't totally lose a lot of picks though. Technically I've been using the same 2-3 picks for 10 years, they disappear from time to time, but they always come back.
