Dan,

Nah, NOT since you sound like you already know and chose to go with GC; either because you don't believe it, felt it wasn't worth it, didn't want to spend that much at the time, or you simply couldn't afford it at the time.

Although I'm glad Harvey brought it up as that explains it.

Well, I've had it a while- methinks even before the QC questions started showing up, as i don't remember reading about it before I bought it.

Regardless, I like the sound of this mic a lot. Yet another flavor in the mic cupboard.

Speaking of different flavors, I recently added a pair of Earthworks SR-71's to the mic locker. I tried them out yesterday on my '55 Martin 000-18 and a friends Takamine (don't remember the model but it was a Dreadnaught) and I have to say they ain't bad at all. Also used them on a Takamine nylon stringed guitar but didn't like them as much on it.
All mics through an En-Voice Mindprint and also a DBX 386. Not bad.

I like the MC012's

I got a balanced stereo pair, and when not being used for drum overheads, I use them for guitar mics.

go to my documents, and download stbrigid2 (grab the one with #2 in the title - better mix) -

that guitar was miked in stereo with two mc012's. - and I'm digging them...in all fairness, though, it was a real sweet sounding guitar.
