Whats your dream guitar either acoustic or electric

I have two dream guitars. They're guitars I used to own, got rid of stupidly when I was a kid, and would do anything to get back for strictly sentimental reasons. Number one was my first guitar - just a cheapie my parents rented, then bought. Lots of memories with that guitar. Gave it to my brother when I was given my second guitar. He sold it. Number two was an inexpensive flamenco guitar my dad brought back from a trip to Spain. I remember it as having the best tone I ever heard. I'd probably be disappointed if I could actually hear it again, but hey, it's a fantasy anyway. Traded it in towards a Gibson SG Junior when I was thirteen. That SG was a great guitar but I was a moron to trade in the flamenco for the few bucks I got.

hmmm.........

As far as acsoustics are concerned... I've got my dream guitar - Gibson J-185 reissue. I fell in love with the J-185 when I first saw a picture of it. I found out the vintage ones carry a $5000 price tag, and figured I've never have one - then they reissued them!! Finally got to play one and it was the sweet tone I was looking for - I'm pikcuing it up tommorow!! ... If I had a second dream acoustic guitar it would be the Gibson J-45 - Holy Mother!! It sounds so beautiful... Definately different than my J-185 but since I don't own the J-45 I tend to covet it more...

On the electric side, I haven't had much experience playing my "dream" guitars. I really love the history behind and the looks of the Gibson '59 standard reissue, but I doubt anyone at a guitar shop would even let me look at one.... The second is a Gibson ES-335 - haven't played this one enough though... and finally the Gibson Les Paul Junior Special - I own the newer faded series double cutaway and it is a sweet guitar - It would be nice to own an original however....

I own a 95ish version which is a very nice guitar..I'd love to play a real 60!I never have :(

Guild F512--the 12-string jumbo with rosewood back and sides. Those are the best acoustic 12-strings around--although fans of maple might contend that the F412 is better.

My second choice for fantasy guitar would be a Rick 370/12.

a decent ovation-though ive grown to love my applause very much!

Love to have a Doug Irwin. I doubt he's even still building.

Love that "hippy sandwich."

For acoustic, a lefty Martin Peter Rowan would be cool.

Or a 1930 OM with planetary tuners.

Parker and Taylor

Electric: a Parker Fly deluxe. Although I haven't played all of the Fly models yet, so that isn't carved in stone, but certainly one of the Fly line. My current electric is a '98 Nitefly I was lucky enough to get for $600 new old stock while teaching at a local music store. Love it. Just wish it were lighter, with better access to upper frets. Like a Fly :D

Acoustic wise: a Taylor 814c. I like it.

A '59 Gretsch 6120. I have a new 6118 to tide me over until I can cash in my retirement to afford one. :D

I've been fortunate enough to own most of my other dream guitars. I just bought a Surf Green 62 Reissue Fender Jaguar. I'm saving for a Lowden.

Not so much dream guitars as guitars that will complete my collection...

I already have what I say is the best guitar I've ever played, my Rickenbacker 620. I can't put that fucker down, and it just feels like it was built for me -- it actually does make me play better.

I just got another one of my dream guitars, a 1995 Ovation Collector's edition. Beautiful, wonderful, orgasmic.

I ALMOST had my ideal bass, a 2002 Five String P-Bass Deluxe, maple neck, ash body. Can you believe I almost had it for 500 dollars? Then I got a freaking speeding ticket (93 in a 60, I'm a dumbass) and had to let the deal go. I'm sure I'll never see that deal again... ohh well, one day... either that or a 5 string Ric bass.

I also want a 70's Martin Nylon. Martin makes some of the best Nylon's ever produced, period.

And finally, a '57 reissue Fender Thinline, which 'll probably be my next guitar.

Of course, I keep telling my fiance that these guitars will "complete my collection," but I'm sure I'll find more to lust after as soon as I get these.
